5. Cookies and conversion pixels

We use a feature in your browser, known as “cookies”, to recognize your computer. We may also use conversion pixels. A “cookie” is a small data file that is copied onto your hard drive when you visit a website. A “persistent cookie” remains stored until it is deleted or until the pre-set expiration date. A “non-persistent cookie” stays in your computer's RAM and disappears at the end of the session. A conversion pixel is a small code inserted in our website that compiles statistical data on the use of the site, including the number of times a link, ad, or given area is clicked.

Some of the cookies that we use collect information about your use of our website, allowing us to improve the way it works and to know which pages are most visited and which advertisements are most effective. Other cookies facilitate your navigation on the site by collecting the preferences you have selected and your location. We also use cookies and conversion pixels for marketing purposes (they allow us to display targeted advertising based on your areas of interest by collecting information on your use of the website) and to perform marketing analytics and measure campaign effectiveness. The data collected by cookies and conversion pixels may be used by the Chamber, its service providers, or its partners, in accordance with this policy.

When the information is collected for statistical purposes, we may use Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect aggregated statistical data to analyze how visitors use the website. These cookies are used to retain non-personally identifiable information. If you do not want to send information to Google Analytics, you can deactivate the use of your data by using the Google Analytics deactivation browser add-on, available here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. For more information about Google Analytics and its privacy policy, we invite you to read the privacy policy, available here: http://www.google.com/intl/en-CA/policies/privacy/.

If you set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive a warning message for each cookie. You can disable or delete cookies by configuring your browser for this purpose. However, if you disable or delete cookies, some features or parts of the website may not work properly.

6. Storage and security of your personal information

We store your personal information in accordance with this Policy only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. After this period, we de-identify it and protect it against unauthorized disclosure or access.

We store your file ourselves. In addition, we take and apply the appropriate security measures to preserve the private or confidential nature of your information.

7. General information and how to exercise your rights

You are entitled to know why the Chamber collects and processes your personal information and to access, update or correct this information.
